Our platform facilitates rent payment solutions for tenants, property owners, and partner organizations across the UAE.

2. Who This Policy Applies To
This Privacy Policy applies to all individuals who interact with Bailee's services, including:
- Tenants — individuals who use the Bailee platform to pay rent in monthly installments.
- Property Owners & Partners (Party 2) — companies or individuals who partner with Bailee to offer rent facilitation services for their units.
- Website & App Visitors — any person who browses the Bailee website or downloads the Bailee application without necessarily completing a registration.
- Prospective Users — individuals who submit an inquiry, application, or expression of interest through any Bailee channel.
3. What Personal Data We Collect
We collect only the personal data that is necessary to provide our services and comply with our legal obligations. The categories of personal data we may collect include:
3.1 Identity & Contact Information
- Full name, date of birth, and nationality.
- Emirates ID number and a copy of your Emirates ID or valid passport.
- Email address and residential or correspondence address.
3.2 Financial & Credit Information
- Bank account details and payment card information (processed securely via our authorized third-party payment provider).
- Income verification data and employment details.
- Credit Bureau records and Open Banking data, accessed with your explicit consent through UAE-licensed Open Banking channels, to assess your financial eligibility and rental affordability.
- Transaction history relating to payments made through the Bailee platform.
3.3 Tenancy & Property Information
- Details of the unit you are renting or seeking to rent, including address and lease terms.
- Tenancy contract details, renewal and termination history.
- Correspondence and communications relating to your tenancy.
3.4 Platform Usage Data
- Login activity, device type, operating system, and app version.
- Pages visited, features used, and interactions within the Bailee application.
- Time and date stamps of platform activity.
3.5 Partner & Business Data (Property Owners / Party 2)
- Company name, trade license number, and commercial registration details.
- Authorized signatory details and identification documents.
- Bank account information for receiving upfront rent disbursements.
- Portfolio and unit information provided for listing or management purposes.
4. How We Collect Your Data
- Directly from you — when you register on the Bailee platform, submit a tenancy application, complete our KYC process, or communicate with us.
- Through Open Banking — with your explicit consent, we access financial data via UAE Credit Bureau integrations and authorized banking APIs to assess your creditworthiness.
- From our partners — property owners and Party 2 partners may provide your information when referring you to Bailee for tenancy facilitation.
- Automatically via the platform — usage and technical data is collected automatically when you use the Bailee website or application.
- From public sources and regulatory bodies — such as company registries, government databases, or licensed credit reference agencies, where permitted by law.
5. Why We Use Your Data
We process personal data only for specified, lawful purposes, including: verifying your identity and eligibility for Bailee's services; processing your tenancy application and facilitating rent payments; assessing your financial eligibility through Credit Bureau and Open Banking data (with your consent); managing your Bailee account and providing customer support; complying with our legal and regulatory obligations under UAE law; and improving our platform, products, and user experience.
6. How We Share Your Data
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your data only in the following circumstances and only to the extent necessary:
- With property owners and partners (Party 2) — to facilitate your tenancy, subject to confidentiality obligations.
- With our licensed payment provider — to process your monthly installments securely.
- With our insurance provider — in connection with eviction proceedings or default situations, to the minimum extent required.
- With the UAE Credit Bureau and Open Banking providers — to conduct your financial eligibility assessment, with your consent.
- With regulatory and government authorities — where required by UAE law, including the Central Bank of the UAE, RERA, law enforcement, or courts of competent jurisdiction.
- With professional advisors — such as legal counsel and auditors, under strict confidentiality obligations.
- In the event of a corporate transaction — such as a merger or acquisition, subject to equivalent data protection obligations.
All third parties with whom we share data are required to handle it in accordance with applicable UAE data protection laws and Bailee's data sharing standards.
7. Data Retention
- Identity and KYC records are retained for a minimum of 5 years following the end of your relationship with Bailee, in accordance with UAE AML/CTF regulations.
- Tenancy and financial transaction records are retained for a minimum of 5 years following the end of the relevant tenancy or financial relationship.
- Platform usage and account data is retained for the duration of your active account and for up to 2 years following account closure.
- Communications and correspondence are retained for 3 years or as required by applicable law.
When personal data is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymize it in accordance with our data retention procedures.
8. Data Security
Bailee implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of sensitive data in transit and at rest.
- Access controls restricting data access to authorized personnel only.
- Regular security assessments and penetration testing of our platform.
- Secure integration protocols for all third-party connections, including Open Banking and payment providers.
- Staff training on data protection and information security.
You are responsible for keeping your Bailee account credentials secure and for notifying us immediately at support@bailee.io if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
9. Your Rights Under UAE Data Protection Law
In accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, you have the following rights:
- Right of Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification — request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
- Right to Erasure — request deletion of your data in certain circumstances, subject to our legal retention obligations.

Bailee does not use cookies or any tracking technologies on its website or application. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics cookies, or behavioral tracking tools. Your browsing and usage of the Bailee platform is not tracked for advertising purposes.
11. Children's Privacy
The Bailee platform is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe that a minor has provided personal data to us without appropriate consent, please contact us at support@bailee.io and we will take prompt steps to delete such data.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via the Bailee platform or by email to your registered address. Your continued use of the Bailee platform after any update constitutes your acknowledgment of the revised Privacy Policy.
13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, specifically the laws of the Emirate of Dubai. Any disputes arising in connection with this Privacy Policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.
